About me

[edit | edit source]

Hello everyone, my name is Katia Francesca Prosperi. I am a 24 year old woman, living and working in Canberra, Australia.

I am in my final year studying a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree at the University of Canberra (wikipedia), Bruce campus and I hope to graduate after the completion of this semester - second semester, 2019. As a required part of my degree I am currently enrolled in the unit, Motivation and Emotion and am so far really enjoying its challenging nature.

After study, I hope to go into the area of Disability Advocacy, with a focus on community advocacy, as I have a passion for inclusion and defending the human rights of people living with all forms of disability, specifically ones invisible in nature. If you are interested in knowing more about disability advocacy in Australia you might like to visit the Disability Advocacy Resource Unit (www.daru.org.au) website.

I also enjoy:

  • Reading autobiographies
  • Pepperoni pizza
  • Hanging out with my 90yo grandmother
  • Yoga

My book chapter

[edit | edit source]

This semester I will be working on the chapter titled Expectancy–value theory of achievement motivation.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to contribute to this topic and expand my understanding of the concept, as it is an idea that has some ties to my personal life as a daughter of a primary trained Italian teacher.

Developing how this theory relates to education and the motivation to achieve academically will also bare significance to my life as a tertiary student in the final hurdle of a bachelors.

I encourage anyone to leave feedback or contributions on my chapter page through the discuss tab or by making minor edits directly to the page.
