Project Look Sharp is a media literacy initiative of Ithaca College to provide materials, training and support for the effective integration of media literacy with critical thinking into classroom curricula at all education levels. We have thirteen media literacy kits, which can be downloaded for free on our website http://www.ithaca.edu/looksharp/?action=main. Some of our kits are the media construction of peace, media construction of the middle east, and chemicals in the environment. Our kits include video clips, slides, print handouts, readings and teacher guides, all designed to help teachers encourage their students to critically analyze media messages. Project Look Sharp aims to promote and support media literacy education at the community, state, and national levels by developing a model for including media literacy in the school curriculum at all grade levels and in all instructional areas, and to show how media literacy can help teachers address new and existing learning standards.
