This template is intended for uncontroversial merges, where discussion is not believed necessary. The edit summary from template addition should give the merge reason. (which will remain in history). This template may also be used after discussion, to express consensus or lack of opposition, in which case the edit summary should refer to the discussion.
Pages with this template are added to Category:History merge requests.
If page history is complex, history merge can be tedious to undo, custodians should exercise caution. If in doubt, substitute Template:Merge to and discuss.
