Placeholder for content I will upload later today. Content will motivate the use of the real number system, what a mathematician means by continuity, and introduce the concept of the limit as it pertains to sequences and series. Ron 05:03, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Imaginary numbers

[edit source]

I know this is about real analysis, but would it be worthwhile to mention something about the imaginary numbers? --HappyCamper 00:34, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hmm. Complex numbers are pretty complex to motivate at this elementary point. :D Nevertheless, I'll see if I can work them into the end of this lesson, because they are extremely important in completing our concept of number. -- Ron 01:03, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Don't forget about quaternions, and octernions. Ooh...and sprinkle some stuff about groups...ah! The beauty of mathematics!
Seriously, I read the article. Quite nicely written I might add. I'm tempted to dig up my notes on pi and e, and perhaps add them here as well. Would be interesting tidbits I think. --HappyCamper 02:55, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
