RIE MYSORE- QUALITY STUDENTS TO QUALITY TEACHERS

                 Regional Institute of Education Mysore is one of the topmost educational institute in India. It works as a major tributery of NCERT(National Council of Educational Research and Training ) , an autonomous organisation of the government of India that was established in 1 september 1961. In south India  (combining five states and two union territories)  RIE is located in the heritage city of Mysuru.  Location makes this institute more student friendly and ensures a peaceful environment in the campus. 

COURSES

         College offers variety of courses which has ample importance in the process of making efficient teachers. Courses like BA.ED , BSC.ED, MSC.ED are the major courses offered here. All the subjects are very specifically integrated with education. It helps to inculcate values and ethics of a good techer from the time graduation in students. Recently it has also started two year B.Ed and M.Ed programmes which also gives positive responses to the growth of institute.It also offers Ph.D in education under proficient teachers of all around. 
 
MULTITUDNES           
               RIEM helps and promotes in both academic and non-academic activities. It has a major role in promoting multi-culturalism and keeps the motto of unity in diversity in its soul. Students of more than twelve states are part of this campus and all the culters , languages, life styles and food styles are appreciated and tied together. College celebrates festivals of south Indian states and ensures the diversity .Students are able to speak in  more than three languages which make them multilinguists.
      
CONSTRUCTIVISM       

It has a motto of making quality teachers and courses provides internship programms in different schools like JNV's and Kendriya Vidyalayas. It is a very good opportunity for student teachers to have a real life experience of classroom. Another important aspect is that it follows constructivist way of teaching. Constructivism brought a paradigm shift from the behaviouralist way of teaching. So, teaching -learning in this approach becomes more suitable in this time.

FREEDOM

College becomes a synonym of parental care. Class timings are from morning nine to evening five and  the remaining time can be utilised in the college library which closes only before half an hour of the closing of college hostel. Institute has a student union and its role in the activities of college is ample. Freedom of expresssion of students are given great importance.

FACILITY

Campus is located in the heart of Mysore. Classrooms are technologically advanced and even the language labs are well maintained. College has free internet facility and thus it is a digital campus. There are four hostels for students and a guest house. Library has more than 60000 books and journals and magazines of different languages.

SIGNIFICANCE

It has got more acceptability and importance in this time through its well managed adninistration and discipline. The glorious history of the college still stand safely in hands of Dr.Y SRIKANTH.
