Description
Español: Narciso al verse reflejado en el agua, queda permanentemente extasiado y enamorado de sí mismo por su extraordinaria belleza. Morirá consumido de amor y transformado en flor. Éste es el castigo de los dioses por rechazar el amor de la ninfa Eco y causarle la muerte (Libro III de las Metamorfosis). Óleo sobre lienzo (1636-1638). Jan Cossiers modifica el boceto proporcionado por Rubens, existente en el Museo Boijmans Van Beuningen, pintura destinada a la decoración de la Torre de la Parada.
