English: Luminescence of natural ruby crystals in ultraviolet rays. Using UV light is one of the most effective ways to determine the authenticity of a ruby. Under the influence of ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 365 nanometers, ruby gives a uniform red fluorescence. This applies to both transparent and any other types of rubies.
