Description
English: This map shows the Virginia area patrolled by the 5th NY Cavalry during the winter of 1863-64, including the Rappahannock and Rapidan rivers. Their camp was in Culpepper County near Stevensburg. The Battle of the Wilderness was fought near Wilderness Tavern west of Fredericksburg.
