Description

This is another version of Image:Action potential video (larger).ogg, but this new version was made using MediaCoder rather than directly with ffmpeg2theora.

This video uses the following copyleft and public domain files: *this moth video *this moth image *an image of Alan Hodgkin *this lipid bilayer image *this channel image

The action potential is based on that shown in Resting and action potentials in single nerve fibres. The sodium and potassium conductance curves are based on those shown in A quantitative description of membrane current and its application to conduction and excitation in nerve.
