Top Five Choices for 2014
In sections below you will find many project but here I am trying to provide top five choices for you. These are not in order of importance or difficulty:
- A electro-mechanical model of the lung with breathing simulation [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: Yes, Electronics: Yes, Programming: No]
- FlexVolt - An EMG Sensor For Physical Therapy and Biohacking [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: No, Electronics: Yes, Programming: Yes]
- Biomedical Sensor Applications with Arduino [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: No, Electronics: Yes, Programming: Yes]
- Arduino based Tic-Tac-Toe Single Player. See this for a simpler design: Arduino based Tic-Tac-Toe. Here is another design [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: No, Electronics: Yes, Programming: Yes]
- Build an arduino based robot with multiple behaviors. See for example, Building a Simple Arduino Robot [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: Yes, Electronics: Yes, Programming: Yes]
In addition to the above projects, if you have your own ideas, discuss with me during class time.
Biomedical Engineering Projects
- An electro-mechanical model of Gallbladder [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: Yes, Electronics: Yes, Programming: No]
- An electro-mechanical model of the lung [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: Yes, Electronics: Yes, Programming: No]
- A electro-mechanical model of the lung with breathing simulation [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: Yes, Electronics: Yes, Programming: No]
- A electro-mechanical model of the lung that replicates YOUR breathing pattern [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: Yes, Electronics: Yes, Programming: probably yes]
- A (purely mechanical) 3D model of the lung as seen in a CT scan using wire mesh [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: Yes, Electronics: No, Programming: No]
- DIY Blood Pressure Monitor (advanced) [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: Yes, Electronics: Yes, Programming: Yes]
Arduino based Biomedical Projects
- Arduino from Scratch - Digital Thermometer [What will you need to learn? Mechanical: No, Electronics: Yes, Programming: Yes]
- Medical and Health Related Projects with Arduino
- FlexVolt - An EMG Sensor For Physical Therapy and Biohacking
- Biomedical Sensor Applications with Arduino
Robotics Projects
Miscellaneous Projects
- Cloud Starter - This bundle includes the new cloudBit plus 5 other favorite prototyping modules; everything you need to create internet-connected devices in seconds. Recreate the most popular smart devices, use littleBits to prototype the next billion dollar idea, or invent a project that solves your own, unique problem.
- Intelligent window (two Polaroid glasses change relative angle to maintain a constant light inside the room with varying outside light.
