Fair use for Radar astronomy[edit | edit source]

To illustrate the successful radar detection and imaging of the south pole of the Moon, since no picture can be obtained of the south pole itself, especially in such great detail.

The image linked here is claimed to be used under fair use as:

  1. it is a scientifically significant image and apparently the only image of the Moon's south pole in such great detail;
  2. it is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality);
  3. the photo is only being used for informational/educational purposes, even though it may be PUBLIC DOMAIN; and
  4. its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article because it shows the successful use of radar astronomy to detect and precisely image the Moon's south pole, depicted in this article and how it has a significant impact on radar astronomy to the general public.
