I added some information about the concept of hospitality and "guest-friendships" and how that was important to the Greek people and how it's displayed in the Odyssey. Feel free to add on to what I wrote if you have more examples of hospitality. --H.G.Grotenhuis (discusscontribs) 19:39, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Excellent stuff here, thank you! If you are looking to continue this topic (@H.G.Grotenhuis: or others), take a look at Book 9, and read what happens to the Cyclops with the theme of hospitality in mind....in particular, think about what the Cyclops does vs. what Odysseus does in terms of hospitality. -Joey Cross ([[User talk:Joey

Divine beings[edit source]

@Kateeb333: Interested to see what kinds of themes about divine beings you are picking up on!

@Kateeb333: I don't know if this is what you're planning on doing in this section but, I think it'd be interesting to talk about the ways the gods influence the behaviors of characters and the layout of the plot. For example, how Poseidon being mad at Odysseus for killing his son led him to become shipwrecked later on.

I added to the section about the divine beings to address the role of godly emotions on the occurrences in the story. --Kateeb333 (discusscontribs) 15:21, 3 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Home/Family[edit source]

I added a section about home and family and wrote a bunch of stuff only to realize I wasn't logged in. I just wanted to make a note of my contributions in case the wiki didn't record my username along with those edits--R Marie T (discusscontribs) 19:23, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Resource for themes[edit source]

I wanted to share a (brief) guide I wrote for looking for themes in stories. Planning on adding more as it comes to me. See it here. -Joey Cross (discusscontribs) 20:21, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
