India or Indic?

Indic or India[edit source]

The US State Department defines "indic languages," I assumed this terminology would also apply as a general study. Also since the department would obstensibly cover the pre-partition era histories of Pakistan and Bangladesh, some differentiation from "India" would be in order. However if it is the will of the community, as derived from further comments, I shall happily change the name. Nmpenguin 04:08, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tasks.[edit source]

Would appreciate it if you could create a Tasks page (not just a section) similar to the one found at European History. If you're confused as to how to do this, and would like me to do it for you, leave a message on my talk page. The Jade Knight 03:52, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merge (Pan-Asian History)[edit source]

I propose that we merge the three Asian History Dep'ts into a single "Department of Asian History". This would correspond to the current Departments of European History, African History, and the pending (pan-)American History Department. This way there will be more interaction among the members of a department, and it will be easier to reach critical mass in regads to cooperation and momentum of paricipation.
