A few comments:

  • I think it's a little early to talk about degrees. Best to just provide content ATM, IMO.
  • Is there a standard procedure for selecting the department facilitator? If not, one should be developed if a facilitator is to be listed.
  • Mind creating a tasks page? This would help the School of History to help others get involved in your Department.

Merge (Pan-Asian History)[edit source]

I propose that we merge the three Asian History Dep'ts into a single "Department of Asian History". This would correspond to the current Departments of European History, African History, and the pending (pan-)American History Department. This way there will be more interaction among the members of a department, and it will be easier to reach critical mass in regads to cooperation and momentum of paricipation. Topic:Asian history could be a good division to house all the sub departments. Emesee 05:51, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was thinking that would be the natural place to combine these. The Jade Knight (d'viser) 07:10, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
The merger would create something unmanageable. These areas are vast and have too much information to be usefully merged. In addition the history of Asia is not monolithic but can be better conceived of as regional. --jeffmcneill 23:54, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
