Asperger's Syndrome was a diagnosis created by Hans Asperger. It was introduced in the DSM-IV as a pervasive developmental disorder, with almost the exact same characteristics as autism, with the only change being that there should not be a speech delay or intellectual impairment. In the DSM-V however, all pervasive developmental disorders were combined into the broad diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
