Abstract

Abstract This presentation will provide an overview of how one can integrate Wiki Project Med tools which were built to support the translation of healthcare topics from English into other languages of Wikipedia. We have been working with various universities among others to support translation of key healthcare content from English into as many languages as possible since 2011, as part of their educational activities. During this time, we have worked in more than 150 languages, supported the creation of nearly 25,000 translations, and worked with more than 3,250 translators. These translations have received billions of pageviews. Since 2021 we have built and incorporated a simplified workflow for tracking work completed and impact of the efforts in question. We have also built tools that makes it easy to support new translators and pick up issues, if they occur, early. All content listed as ready for translation is fully referenced and has been thoroughly reviewed by a physician for accuracy.
