Abstract
Abstract PetScan is one of the most versatile yet underutilized tools in the Wikimedia ecosystem. This session is designed to help experienced editors, educators, and program leaders unlock its full potential. We’ll dive deep into building advanced queries using categories, templates, Wikidata properties, and Boolean logic. The session will be highly interactive. I will walk participants through real-world examples, including how to identify underdeveloped topic areas, and analyze multilingual coverage. Attendees will have time to build and test their own queries with guidance, making it a practical learning experience. We will also discuss how to export and visualize the data for reporting or campaign planning.
