Byzantine Empire[edit]

Hi SelfieCity!

The history resource Byzantine Empire appears well-developed and ready for learners! Would you like to have it announced on our Main Page News? --Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 02:28, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

Sure, but what kind of resource would it be? SelfieCity (discusscontribs) 03:03, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

In the past, this question could be answered by consulting {{Rtnav|Things you can make on Wikiversity}}. This template has unanimous consensus approval by some 8 Wikiversity autoconfirmed users and above as of 28 June 2011‎. But, for the moment, the status and hierarchy of some resources have been rearranged. If you check Help:Resource types, the choices are many. There are Learning projects, Research projects, and/or Learning materials. Byzantine Empire can be any of these. At present it can also be a landing page. As it stands it is a learning resource that succinctly describes its historical subject well by including two well-done historical maps representing different critical points. It can be developed into a course at one organizational extreme, for example, or a standalone at the other. The choice of further growth is open to contributors. If you'd like to expand it, you and additional contributors are free to decide what kind of resource it would be! --Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 18:08, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for explaning — in fairly recent times I've been reading a lot on Wikipedia about the Empire but I tried to keep information general in this learning resource so I would not have to worry about citing sources. (None of the information in the article, except the pictures perhaps, could be considered copyrighted.)
I'm fine if the current article status is appropriate. I'm used to Wikivoyage, where every article has to be tagged in such a way that it has a specific status. SelfieCity (discusscontribs) 22:50, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
