Referee report query[edit source]
Hi Logan520,
I saw that you added a first referee report here -- thanks! I had a couple of questions about it:
- It seems like the "this previous version" history link is broken, is that something you can fix?
- Is there a standard format (template, etc.) for responding to referee reports?
(Or, if you're not the right person, if you could point me in their direction.)
Thanks, JayBeeEll (discuss • contribs) 17:58, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi JaybeeEll,
- No problem! In terms of the link, I had a look and am not sure why it isn't working. @Evolution and evolvability: may have created the template that it is pulling from and be able to help. In terms of responding, have a look at this section on the WikiJournal and then you can click the response template to get an example of its use. I'd also recommend looking at another preprint with peer reviews if you want another example. Let me know if you have other questions! --Logan520 (discuss • contribs) 21:27, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi JayBeeEll. Sadly that history link is the best that's currently automatable (the only item in that history log link at the time it was reviewed should be this version). Eventually we aim to work out a way to point to the actual page permalink, but at the moment the software isn't implemented, so I agree it's really unclear. The standard way to respond to reviewer comments is currently to post the response directly to the discussion page inside
{{response|your comments here}}
template. It can either be point-by-point (example) or as a single block (example). I'm working on a solution using the [reply] buttons that you see after comments here. ~~~~ T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 04:51, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
