Spamming Talk page[edit]

Hello. Would you avoid posting messages similar to the advertising on talk pages. Thanks. Crochet.david 19:52, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

I saw your slew of messages inviting people to History of the Ottoman Empire, and it concerned me. If messages like this are not targeted to people likely to be interested, as shown by signing up for a related school, or, in any case, are placed on many user Talk pages at once, it is quite like spam in effect, even if your intention are good, which I'm sure they are. Please don't do this, as Crochet.david requested. It is okay to notify a user, one or no more than a few at a time, when you have reason to believe that they will be generally interested. When the course is more ready to go, I'll help you announce it appropriately, there are much better ways that won't irritate anyone, let me know. Meanwhile, "quizzes" is spelled with an "i".... You can Move (rename) the files to the correct spelling, and then, if there are no important links that you can't change pointing to the incorrect spelling, put a {{db|redirect, filename was mispelled}} tag at the top of the page that the system creates when you Move, which will now be only a Redirect page, and I or another administrator will delete it for you in short order. Thanks for your enthusiasm about Wikiversity. Perhaps I'll drop by the class, and ... welcome, as-salaamu ^alaykum. --Abd 01:48, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Welcoming users[edit]

Many users have SULs that create accounts without actually using Wikiversity. They should not be welcomed. Only welcome users after their first edit. Ottava Rima (talk) 20:13, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Establishing the Ottoman State[edit]

There were a couple places where Wikipedia disagreed with the dates you gave. I put the Wikipedia dates after yours in parentheses. Please check and figure out which dates are correct. Note that you have a quiz question on one of those dates. StuRat 01:41, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

There's another quiz question that seems to have the wrong answer:

When did the Ottomans enter the Balkans?
+ After the Kosovo War

Since Kosovo is actually in the Balkans, according to Wikipedia, it doesn't make sense that they would first enter the Balkans after they already fought a war there. StuRat 04:06, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

I see you took out the Wikipedia dates and added a note that the Wikipedia dates are wrong, but how do you know that ? Both the English and Turkish Wikipedia seem to agree on the 1365 date, for example, and they have plenty of external references. Your only external refs are to those aritcles, which contradict your dates. StuRat 18:02, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

invitations to multiple users[edit]

There are several methods you might try for finding collaborators. It is probably best to limit user talk page invitations to people who have already expressed some interest in the same topics that you are interested in. You can make a link from the Wikipedia Ottoman Empire page to the Wikiversity Ottoman Empire page by using Template:Wikiversity. Also, make sure that the Ottoman Empire page is linked to by directory pages such as Portal:History. --JWSchmidt 15:56, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I have seen your today work on quizess. Do you think you can put all the pages you found to some categories? Thx.--Juan de Vojníkov 19:38, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Such as this one: 16th century: Growth of the Empire, Part 1, Selim I (Yavuz). --Juan de Vojníkov 19:39, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
