SUMMARY:The Color of Water is about a mixed boy growing up with a white mother during the 50s and 60s and how embarrasing it was .The first half the author tell stories of his childhood and his mother's life and how hard it was growing up. The second half of the book he descibes how it was growing up with twelve brothers and sisters and their relationship with their mother .
