My name is Edward Farrell and I am currently studying towards a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Canberra.

The Overjustification Effect[edit]

As part of my enrolment in the Motivation and Emotion unit, I am currently developing a chapter on the Overjustification effect and its effect on motivation.

Feedback on 'Parental pressure on children to perform in sport': Recommended that they review the Deci (1971) article on the overjustification effect, as an interesting point to consider regarding the intrinsic motivation of children in sport.
