Force represents a physical quantity that interacts with an object to do something. For example, the force used to open and close a door.

Newton's 5 Laws

5 Newton's Laws - laws of physics first discovered by physicist Isaac Newton and published in his book Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy) in 1687. Newton used these laws to explain and study the motion of objects, such as the motion of planets in the solar system.

  1. Objects remain in the same state when there is no interaction force.
  2. When there is an interaction force, the object will change state.
  3. In equilibrium, the total force interacting with the object is zero.
  4. The object will create a reaction force that opposes the interaction force.
  5. The force of attraction between two objects is proportional to the square of the distance between the two objects.

Law 1 states that without interaction forces, objects will remain at rest and not move.

Law 2 states that when there is interaction force, objects will move, creating motion.

Law 3 states that an object is in equilibrium when the total interaction force with the object is zero.

Law 4 states that an object will create a reaction force that opposes the interaction force in all equilibrium entities.

Law 5 states that the gravitational force between two objects is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the two objects.
