Ideas for learning and research projects[edit source]

I've already posted some of my thoughts on the school of marine sciences page http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/School_talk:Marine_Sciences, so here are just a few suggestions specific to marine biology-

  • Secondary research project on the impact of global climate change on plankton - there is a growing body of research that the impact could be greater than expected - perhaps some scope for primary research into the extended effects of this - e.g. on distribution and ecology of consumers of plankton
  • Courses in 'Plankton and Microbial Life', 'Energy in the seas', 'Coral Reefs and Primary Productivity', 'Fisheries and Exploiting The Seas' and 'Introduction to Marine Chemistry and Physics'.
