The intellectual properties of an object in Second Life belong to the subscriber who created it, per the 2003 press release by the creators, Linden Lab,[1] and specifically sections 2.3 to 2.7 of their Terms of Service. The software itself is licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike 3.0 License.[2] This image is not a derivative work if it only contains user-created content. However, content created by third parties, such as logos or other copyrighted material, must be accompanied by evidence of proper licensing by the creator(s) of such copyrighted material. |
