I found this paper extremely interesting and hits fully on a groundbreaking topic that reflects an essential growing area of healthcare that to date has never been explored in-depth and which in the future will be increasingly important.
Areas for improvement are mainly two:
1) the authors should better clarify their use of the PRISMA Guidelines; 2) English grammar and spelling needs to be checked and improved here and there throughout the paper.

This article is based on a systematic review of publications in English on this topic. It is interesting and clear, and presents an unbiased overview of work on an important subject. To the best of my knowledge, it contains all the important ideas involved in this subject. However, I also feel that it would benefit from some improvements. First, concerning content, it would be useful to explain more clearly how the authors obtained the themes. Second, the results (i.e. sections on themes) should be organised into sub-sections (I imagine the format will allow this, and it would make their findings much easier to grasp). Third, the text needs to be checked again, since there are many instances of typos (searche, exmaple), non-agreement between subject and verb, incongruent hanging clauses, and even incorrect question forms (What impact such encounters have on health and well-being of interpreters?). Fourth, the text is long and rather cumbersome at times. The first sections of the text, on the history and background, should be reduced by around one third. Fifth, and this is rather difficult so I leave it to the discretion of the editor, I feel that the authors do not pay enough attention to the very different contexts in which the interpreters in these studies are working (but I understand that this might be too hard to incorporate). Finally, I do think that the concept of "training" could be elaborated slightly more, as it is one of the obvious solutions, but one which is rather impracticable in many circumstances (maybe the authors could consider why).

Many thanks for your constructive feedback that we found very useful. The process of developing themes is described in the section of data extraction Table 1 and Table 3.
The section on themes Is already organised in appropriate themes. Any more headings will disrupt the flow of message. Hope this is acceptable. Apologies for grammar and English related errors in the paper and we have thoroughly edited and proofread the article and have dealt with errors. With regards to the comment about long text, we have removed first section of introduction and reduce word count. We have added more information about training and education for interpreters and hope that this is satisfactory.
