Physics catalog[edit]

I have found it very frustrating trying to find my way around the various schools, portals, topics, and departments of Wikiversity. The question that keeps coming up is "Where can I find a catalog or list, in topical order, of everything related to physics?" Or mathematics, or ....

Now the Category:Physics page is a good place to look, but it's organized alphabetically, not logically. Categories have subcategories, but I find that that just makes the problem more complex, not less so.

I propose that each "School" page have such a logically organized list. In addition to the existing material, such as the courses graded by educational level, etc.

I have made the beginnings of that in the Physics page itself, which I consider to be the fundamental central page for the whole topic. I went through the physics category list (up through "d"; it's a really big project!), and made the beginnings of such a logically ordered list in the Physics page. The idea is that one can find virtually everything related to physics from a very small number of mouse clicks (typically just one) from this page.

I would like to put a similar list on the School:Physics and Astronomy page, along with its existing extensive list of courses graded by level.

It appears that there are two major types of pages: plain "lecture"/"article" pages (they could be considered "encyclopedia" pages, like Wikipedia, but made accessible to students) and actual courses with an organized series of lectures and quizzes. The logical list I am thinking of is just the former type of article. I'd like to see the "School:" pages contain both the logical list of plain pages and another list, graded by educational level, of courses. I note that the School:Physics and Astronomy page already has the latter.

I invite you to take a look at this page: Physics Big Overview, created by myself, and take also a look at the discussion section (There is only two lines to be read). What do you think of it and of its aim? I'll be happy if you places it where you think is the right place, for example in this page, invite others to participate and, mostly, if participate you too! But purpose of the page need to be respected: no technical/mathematical details of physics in deep, but only trivial concepts, summarized, and of course with all necessary technical terms.

Thank you! But I'm still not a completely skilled Wikiversity user, and I have to learn a lot of Learning Projects and others concepts! I considered moving it to the Physics/Essay subspace, but that would be even less emphasized, and your project isn't an essay, you are inviting others to participate, so it is a learning project, a place where you and others can learn physics by practicing explaining it simply. I'm not sure that "overview" is a good word in the title, it might be more like "Physics/In simple English," but left that for now. Nobody is a "completely skilled Wikiversity user," we are all learning how to manage this project. As can be seen by the first comment above, we have a bit of a mess on our hands, which I consider an opportunity to organize. You're right! Pardon my grammatical errors in english, here and in other pages (such as Physics overview), I'm italian and I don't have a completely knowledge of english! However, about name of the page, you are free to think the right name, I'm a lot busy in this time and for now I don't have enogh time to read in deep what learnig projects and wiki in simple english are! Physics resources template[edit]

One of the projects that I've been wanting to do is create a Template:Physics resources which hopefully will contain every type of resource available. See for example, Template:Astronomy resources. I can start that if this will help. And, your input will be appreciated. I am seeing this resource (the Physics resource) as primarily a lecture/article. We are free here at wikiversity to go way beyond wikipedia-type encyclopedia entries. We can include many theories that may be viewed as conflicting, images and text as cited quotes directly from the state of the art/science primary literature, and, of course, original research and such projects. Listing of courses and resources might be better on a Topic:Physics resource which is viewed here like a Physics Department home page.--Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 01:06, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Space - Movement - Matter and Relativity of Time[edit]

Spacetime: Every visible and tangible object can only be moved by life because of the absolute union of all the parts of space, and is Life, vision and Consciousness the only- thing that can connect with the totality of smaller parts that form space.

Hello, I'm Javier Moreno, I study Geophysics in Venezuela, and I have a critic for Einstein Theory of Relativity of time, The theory can't be true because if it were, perception of movement and coincidence of events wouldn't be possible.I also think movement is only possible if it is generated by life because the absolute union of all the parts of space is a fundamental property of the space, or in other words space can't have holes, I think that in our description of reality we can never violate those fundaments, The great fact here is that even with this absolute union, movement is possible, and that is a irrefutable visual proof of the existence of at least one Life form who generate matter and movement or in other words God. Other indication is that the only possible thing that really connect with the totallity of every smaller part of space is Life itself, Vision and counciousness without a doubt, that's why we can see infinitte smaller points that form our vision and we can't avoid that fundament neither in every description we do, I hope we can undertand this for the really advance of physics and science. Movement became a injectivity of counciousness over space. Thank you for you attention, I wait for your answers.
