Heading casing[edit source]

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

rather than

    1. This chapter covers the main theories and research encompassed by the topic, with effective use of presentation boxes and images. Further detailed analysis/critical thinking and use of APA style would strengthen the chapter.

    1. Each of the social needs is described and discussed; a great reflection of the topic!
    2. Incremental theorists are mentioned, but the difference between incremental and entity theorists is not explained and may not be obvious to the intelligent layperson.

    1. A variety of research is well-used to support the text. Discussing the studies in greater detail would strengthen the chapter.
    2. Discussion of achievement could be clearer; people with low/high need for achievement do not respond “better” to certain emotions, they are more likely to respond “with” those emotions.

    1. The boxes serve to effectively highlight each social need and images with explanatory captions are used to great effect!
    2. Ampersands are often used in text; “and” should be expressed in words.
    3. In APA style, while quotes are accurately enclosed in double quotation marks, they do not need to be italicised and should be accompanied by a page reference.
    4. pp. does not need to be included in the reference list before page numbers for journal articles; this is usually reserved for book chapters.

  1. Overall, this is a basic overview of social needs using mostly bullet-points, with simple, fun, creative animations and narrated audio.

Structure and content[edit source]

  1. In the general introduction, establish the self-help focus questions
  2. What was the relevance of the cancer treatment video? (explain)
  3. No summary of take-home messages?

Communication[edit source]

  1. Voice-over was reasonably well paced.
  2. Greater tonal variation could be used to enhance viewer interest and attention.
  3. Creativity with the simple animations was notable, although perhaps more connection between narrated audio and the animations would have improved their utility.

Production quality[edit source]

  1. Production quality was basic, but good.
  2. What was the source for the music? Was it used with permission from the copyright owner? (Otherwise, this would be copyright violation). Same with pictures.
  3. Thanks for sharing the presentation under a Creative Commons Share-alike license.
  4. Provide a clickable link back to the chapter.
