Comments[edit source]

This topic really interests me, I was going to choose this one actually! I changed a few grammatical errors, hope you don't mind! Just a few misplaced letters, capitalisation and lower case, etc! I do suggest however, using subheadings instead of lots of main headings that way everything looks in order and has a nice flow! Also, I do like how you have incorporated appropriate links to mental health organisations! Maybe write a short summary of what they do, how it relates to prenatal depression and so on... Another thing is that make sure you follow the APA guidelines for pictures, and putting a "caption" next to "Figure 1". For example you could say "Figure 1. Mother and child" --KR96 (discusscontribs) 00:25, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Really interesting topic. I suggest you add a few stats at the beginning of your page about the prevalence of prenatal depression. I think that may be a good way to begin your page and entice the viewer to read on! Heres a website that may assist: http://resources.beyondblue.org.au/prism/file?token=BL/0162 --U3117399 (discusscontribs) 02:50, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Heading casing[edit source]

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Topic development review and feedback

The topic development has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing through the chapter. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Topic development marks will be available later via Moodle. Keep an eye on Announcements. Note that marks are based on what was available before the due date, whereas the comments may also be based on all material available at time of providing this feedback.

Title, sub-title, TOC[edit source]

  1. Template for title added
  2. Sub-title needs to be included

User page[edit source]

  1. Created
  2. Used effectively

Social contribution[edit source]

  1. None summarised with links to evidence

Section headings[edit source]

  1. See earlier comments about heading casing
  2. Basic, 2-level heading structure - would benefit from further development, perhaps with sub-headings for each of the major sections
  3. Links should go into external links
  4. Needs to more strongly emphasise theory and research, with better use of examples/case studies
  5. Also needs to more strongly emphasis emotion and practical suggestions based on theory and research to fit with book theme

Key points[edit source]

  1. Very limited development of key points suggests only a weak understanding of the topic at this stage
  2. See other comments under Section headings which also apply here
  3. Include in-text interwiki links for the first mention of key terms to relevant Wikipedia articles.
  4. Consider embedding one quiz question per major section rather than having one longer quiz towards the end.

Image[edit source]

  1. One image embedded
  2. Consider increasing image size from default
  3. Use APA style figure captions and developing figure captions to help connect the image more strongly to key points being made in the text

References[edit source]

  1. Only one reference provided (3 were required)
  2. For full APA style:
    1. Use the new recommended format for dois - http://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/2014/07/how-to-use-the-new-doi-format-in-apa-style.html
    2. Do not include issue numbers for journals which are continuously numbered within a volume

Resources[edit source]

  1. See also
    1. Use bullet points
    2. Include e.g., (Wikipedia) in brackets after link to better identify the source/destination
    3. Also link to past relevant chapters
  2. External links
    1. Not provided

Chapter review and feedback[edit source]

This chapter has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing through the chapter. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Chapter marks will be available later via Moodle, along with social contribution marks and feedback. Keep an eye on Announcements.

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is a basic, but sufficient chapter.
  2. For additional feedback, see these copyedits.

Theory[edit source]

  1. There is a notable lack of consultation of peer-reviewed literature on which to base the chapter. The Guidelines (2017) is overused as a citation - instead, utilise primary, peer-reviewed sources.
  2. Basic but sufficient coverage of theory is provided.
  3. The lack of Conclusion with take-home messages is a notable omission.

Research[edit source]

  1. Many statements are unreferenced - see the [factual?] tags
  2. Basic but sufficient coverage of research involving the relation between the target constructs is provided.
  3. When describing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  4. Greater emphasis on major reviews and meta-analyses would be helpful.

Written expression[edit source]

  1. Written expression
    1. Sub-title was missing - now added
    2. Write for an international, not just Australian audience. Australians only make up 0.33% of the world human population.
    3. Avoid one sentence paragraphs. A paragraph should typically consist of three to five sentences.
    4. There was a lot of tidy-up done in the copyediting for the links towards the end.
  2. Layout
    1. See earlier comments about heading casing.
    2. Sections which include sub-sections should also include an introductory paragraph (which doesn't need a separate heading) before branching into the sub-headings.
  3. Learning features
    1. Adding interwiki links for the first mention of key words would make the text more interactive.
    2. No use of images, tables, quizzes, or case studies.
  4. Spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
    1. Check and correct use of ownership apostrophes (e.g., individuals vs. individual's).
    2. Check can correct over and under use of capitalisation.
    3. Spelling can be improved (e.g., see the [spelling?] tags).
    4. The grammar for some sentences could be improved (e.g., see the [grammar?] tags).
  5. APA style
    1. Numbers under 10 should be written in words (e.g., five); numbers 10 and over should be written in numbers (e.g., 10).
    2. Citations
      1. A full stop is needed after et al.
    3. References are not in full APA style e.g.,
      1. Check and correct italicisation.
      2. See new doi format.
      3. Do not include issue numbers for journals which are continuously numbered within volumes.
