I've turned on ArchiveBot to keep things clean here. The Jade Knight (d'viser) 03:54, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1) I changed it from 45 days to 90 days since we sometimes go over 45 days without a contribution and I don't want everything to be archived. That might makes newbies think this is a dead page, and keep them from posting here.
2) I changed the minimum from 2 to 1 signed contribution since we often get one unsigned question and one signed answer. Such questions should be eligible for archiving without us going back and adding signatures. I'd even like to change it to zero, as any question that goes unanswered after 90 days isn't likely to both be answered and have the answer be read by the original poster. However, I was worried that a zero might break the bot.
3) I'd also prefer direct links from the main page to the 2007 and 2008 archives, rather than a link to an index page which then contains links to those pages. A separate index of archive pages only makes sense if we have a large number of archive pages. Perhaps in 20 years this approach may be warranted. StuRat 16:25, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, feel free to change the archive listing, and nominate the "archives" page for deletion, if you like. I've asked Sebmol, however, to count {{unsigned}} as a signature. If he does this, I'd like to return it to 2 signatures. The Jade Knight (d'viser) 17:19, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So you want unanswered questions to be left here forever ? For what purpose ? StuRat 00:02, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have more faith in us than that! I do not believe we shall see a question that will lack a response. The Jade Knight (d'viser) 06:20, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. But if we aren't going to have any unanswered questions, what's the reason to exclude them (those with less than 2 signed responses) from archiving ? StuRat 06:51, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Because some answers could take a while. Probably not 90 days, however (per your amendation). The Jade Knight (d'viser) 07:28, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so we agree on the 90 day/1 siggy combo then ? If any Q's take longer than that to answer, I can't imagine the OP coming back to see it anyway. StuRat 14:12, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. The Jade Knight (d'viser) 18:26, 10 October 2008 (UTC
I've shortened it to 60 days, as we've been rather busy lately, and I don't want it to get too big. The Jade Knight (d'viser) 09:29, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
