REVELATION: VISIONS OF THE END OF THE AGE[edit source]

"End of the age" is the correct translation of Matthew 24:3 and is found in many Bible translations, not "end of the world" (KJV) or "end of time". When the Christ returns, he ushers in 1,000 years of world unity and peace. Brad Watson, Miami (discusscontribs) 17:05, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes but it the end of man's rule the 2nd death. Matt420469 (discusscontribs) 23:40, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It also states that the 2nd death will not hurt the faithful. Matt420469 (discusscontribs) 23:41, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Lion/Lamb Takes the Book/Scroll[edit source]

I tweaked the opening two paragraphs of the article while primarily using as reference the King James Bible of 1611.

After hearing the Christ’s messages to the churches, John of Patmos is brought before the heavenly throne where four beasts, “full of eyes in front and in back” (4:6), and "twenty-four elders" are worshiping God. God's form appears to be something like that of a human being, because we are told that in his hand is a "book/scroll"* which contains the judgments which are about to come upon the earth. John writes, “I wept greatly, because no one was found worthy to open and read the book/scroll, or to look at it” (5:4). No one, that is, except “the Lion of the Tribe of Judea, the root of David” who "has prevailed to open the book/scroll and loose the seven seals" (5:5). This prompts great celebration and worship in heaven. John says, “I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying, ‘Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!’” (5:11-12).

This incident is reminiscent of the words of Paul to the church in Rome: “There is none righteous, no not one...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:10,23), and those of the Epistle to the Hebrews: “We do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Heb 4:15). After taking the book/scroll, the Lion/Lamb begins to open the seven seals, one by one. As each seal is broken, a devastating judgment falls upon the earth. The opening of the first four seals unleashes The Four Horsemen.

(*The King James Version of 1611[1] [1st revision 1629] refers to "book" in The Revelation Chapter 5 while later English Bible versions refer to "scroll".) - Brad Watson, Miami (discusscontribs) 21:41, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The seven seals[edit source]

Ok I have just been studying Revelations. At the end of Revelations Jesus is talking about the Morning star. Revelations 2:28 "and I will give him the morning star". Please read the entirety of Revelations 2. Now in Revelations 4 and 5 its talking about the book with the 7 seals. Please read it. And no one could open the book because they were not worthy. The book I think is a totally the Bible and more specific the Book of Revelations which was a seperate book combined into the Bible. No one was to decipher what the 7 seal were so no one was worthy of opening it. I have done some research. The morning star is obviously the planet Venus. Now we might ask what is the significance of the planet Venus. Some say it's the fact that Venus comes before the light of day. I dont think so. Is referring to the Temple of Venus in ancient Rome which the structure still exist today! Now upon reviewing photos of the Temple of Venus. There are 7 enormous gates or recessions that are indeed still there. But these enormous gates or doorways are blocked off in the original construction? Why? Why is there 7 gigantic doorways that are blocked off? Are the 7 doorways the 7 seals? Do your own research and tell me what you think. Replacing Beasts with Creatures[edit source]

From [1]: Your page refers to the four creatures that John saw as beasts. This is wrong. The four beasts are the evil beings Daniel saw. John clearly states that what he saw were creatures. It is important you make this distinction and I do not understand why that edit was blocked. (The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ken the coach (talkcontribs) )

@Ken the coach: Wikipedia:Living creatures (Bible) uses creatures and beasts interchangeably in describing the four living beings in Revelation. Do you have any additional sources that clarify this difference so that both resources may be corrected? -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 13:43, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
