Subject: [CS-DC'15] Invitation to give an invited talk within an e-track on "TTTT"
Cc: paul.bourgine@polytechnique.edu, pierre.collet@unistra.fr, CS-DC'15 - email box <unitwin.csdc15@gmail.com>

Dear ____ ,

It is my pleasure to invite you to give an Advanced Introduction Invited Talk or a New Result Invited Talk within the "TTTT" e-track of the CS-DC’15 conference. I would be delighted if you accepted.

  • The idea behind "advanced introductions" is typically to present the main results of the e-session domain and its main expected conjectures. Such talks are essential for the trans-disciplinary audience of [1] CS-DC'15. Only a summary of half a page is required.
  • The idea behind a presentation of a "new result" is that it has to be understandable by the trans-disciplinary audience. A long paper (12-page) or a short one (6-page) can be associated to the talk.

CS-DC’15 is the first world "e-conference" organized by the Complex Systems Digital Campus (CS-DC), a UNESCO UniTwin (University Twinning and Networking Program), and will be held on Sep 30-Oct 1, 2015. Your talk will be recorded and can be replayed by researchers and students as required in the CS-DC UNESCO UniTwin, without limit of time.

Your presentation could be a 30mn talk on Sep 30-Oct 1, at distance. Only a half page summary is required. If you agree, please submit the title of your "New Result Invited Talk" / "Advanced Introduction Invited Talk" + pre-abstract immediately (final abstract requested by June 15th) here:

E-mail template to ask an e-session chair to solicit invited speakers[edit | edit source]

Subject: [CS-DC'15] Solicitation of invited speakers of your e-session
Cc: paul.bourgine@polytechnique.edu, pierre.collet@unistra.fr, CS-DC'15 - email box <unitwin.csdc15@gmail.com>

Dear ____ ,

It is now the right time for you (as the chair of your e-session) to solicit invited speakers. You will find here some e-mail templates for this task, depending whether you are asking for an Advanced Introduction invited talk or for New Result invited talk:

  • The idea behind "advanced introductions" is typically to present the main results of the e-session domain and its main expected conjectures. Such talks are essential for the trans-disciplinary audience of [2] CS-DC'15. Only a summary of half a page is required.
  • The idea behind a presentation of a new result as an invited talk is that it has to be understandable by the trans-disciplinary audience. A long paper (12-page) or a short one (6-page) can be associated to the talk.
  • You can of course leave it open to the invited speaker to determine whether he wants to deliver an Advanced Introduction or a New Result talk.

Altogether, make sure that these invited talks are well recovering your domain. They will be recorded and can be replayed by researchers and students as required within the CS-DC UNESCO UniTwin, without limit of time.

The e-session chair and the co-chairs can be such invited speakers, the aim being again the best possible covering of your domain.

Many thanks and best wishes,

E-mail template to invite a new e-Session chair[edit | edit source]

Subject: [CS-DC'15] Invitation to co-chair an e-session within an e-track on "TTTT"
Cc: paul.bourgine@polytechnique.edu, pierre.collet@unistra.fr, CS-DC'15 - email box <unitwin.csdc15@gmail.com>

Dear ____ ,

It is my pleasure to invite you to chair an e-session inside the "TTTT" e-track at the CS-DC’15 conference. I would be delighted if you accepted. I was thinking that this e-session could be entitled "SSSS", but naturally we can discuss this together. CS-DC’15 is the first world "e-conference" organized by the Complex Systems Digital Campus, a UNESCO UniTwin (University Twinning and Networking Program), and will be held on Sep 30-Oct 1, 2015.

It is the first of a series of conferences devoted to all scientists involved in the transdisciplinary challenges of complex systems, crossing theoretical questions with experimental observations of multilevel dynamics.

CS-DC’15 is also a new kind of conference with no conference fees as it is happening for the most part online. Any connected scientist in the world can present a paper (accepted after submission) and ask questions with no need to travel to the conference venue. All selected presentations are given via open videoconference tools in front of a worldwide audience. They are recorded and can be replayed later on for research and education purposes without time limit.

As e-Session Chair, you will be choosing invited speakers and the type of paper review process. All is done at the level of the conference to minimize your workload. You only need to:

  • choose one or more e-Session Co-Chair(s) and Secretary(ies)
  • select either a classical double-blind review process or a new, collaborative peer-to-peer review mode
  • use a semi-automated review assignment tool, which is provided by the conference organization

If you are not available to chair your e-session live on Sep 30 and/or Oct 1, you can delegate this task to your co-chair. If you agree to chair a session, please reply positively to this mail with a session name (and possibly the name of a co-chair) with Pierre.Collet@Unistra.fr and Paul-Armand.Michaud@edu.univ-fcomte.fr in cc, so that the new session is declared in the CS-DC'15 conference system.

As e-Session Chair, you will also belong to the e-Track Program Committee (PC).

I would be grateful if you could let me know your decision as quickly as possible.

Many thanks and best wishes,
