TO WHOM THIS MIGHT CONCERN.

I have noticed that it has been proposed [where?] that Wikiversity should be closed down on April 4th 2011 apparently because some users [who?] have vandalized the work [what?] of other contributors [who?], these latter having added to Wikiversity in good faith. As far as I am concerned the closure of Wikiversity would mean that genuine researchers might find that there is no place left to put hypothetically new knowledge into the public domain so that this can be authenticated or otherwise discredited. The Wikiversity allows new ideas in every area of human endevour to have a platform where they can be thoroughly tested.

I have personally have made two substantial original research project contributions to Wikiversity, in February 2011, that await verification.

Closing the Wikiversity, in my opinion, would be like closing down the Internet because of hackers. Surely it would be far better for everyone if a sophisticated way could could be invented of filtering out vandalism against Wikiversity rather than tamely accepting defeat. Neither must Wikiversity become a victim of its own success. [By vandalism, I understand that some users are altering the contributions of others thereby rendering these entries invalid or at least suspect.]

If indeed the cessation proceeds on schedule as is anticipated then I do hope that there will be an immediate "plan B" replacement for Wikiversity.
