General Information
Nicaragua, officially the Republic of Nicaragua, is the geographically largest country in Central America. The country's most spoken language is Spanish, though indigenous tribes speak several different languages. Nicaraguan Sign Language emerged in the 1970s and 1980s among deaf children as the first special education schools brought them together.
