English: This picture of the star formation region NGC 3582 was taken using the Wide Field Imager at ESO's La Silla Observatory in Chile. The image reveals giant loops of gas ejected by dying stars that bear a striking resemblance to solar prominences.
Español: Esta imagen de la región de formación estelar NGC 3582 fue tomada usando el instrumento Wide Field Imager del telescopio MPG/ESO de 2,2 metros en el Observatorio La Silla de ESO, en la Región de Coquimbo en Chile. La imagen muestra gigantescos arcos de gas eyectados por estrellas que mueren, los que resultan asombrosamente similares a las prominencias solares.
