Summary

Description
English: This figure is the outcome of the first ever century-scale, data driven, coupled solar surface flux transport model and solar internal dynamo model simulation which was utilized to predict the amplitude and timing of sunspot cycle 25. This prediction by Bhowmik and Nandy (2018, Nature Communications) indicates that solar cycle 25 would be a weak, but not insignificant cycle. The ensemble prediction ranges from a cycle slightly weaker to slightly stronger compared to solar cycle 24.
