Summary

Description
English: Explaining the sine wave as geometrically fundamental as the circle. The sine function is the orthogonal projection of the rotated unit circle. The cosine function is also the projection of the unit circle, just 90 degrees out of phase with sine. In three dimensions, the unit circle, sine and cosine are the unit helix as viewed from each axis. This fundamental geometry is expressed by Euler's formula.
