Description
English: What is rheumatic fever? Rheumatic fever is thought to be an autoimmune reaction brought on as a result of a streptococcus infection. In some cases, the heart tissue may become damaged, and after repeated streptococcus infection and rheumatic fever, somebody can develop rheumatic heart disease. This video covers the pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, and major clinical findings of rheumatic fever and heart disease.
