Electromagnets are temporary and man-made magnets. The magnet has a magnetic force when current is passed through the coil. The coil is called a solenoid. The strength of the magnet is proportional to the current flowing in the circuit. The electricity passing through the wire is called the current. Current is the flow of electrons, and electrons are negatively charged particles. Electromagnets have different uses. A simple example is an electromagnet that picks up iron, nickel and cobalt.
