Any animals that is classified as a bird has feathers. Most birds fly, but there are a sizable number of birds that do not, most notably the ratites.

Birds have been around for ages, ever since prehistoric times to our modern day birds. Throughout the period of our world, some birds have fallen to extinction, while the populations of others have grown.

Birds have contributed significantly to humankind. The meat, fat, and leather of some birds have been a source for food, ointments, and fashion. The intelligence of other birds have assisted in ameliorating learning for autistic children and relaying messages without the presence of a global positioning system.
