The Neural Computation Model[edit | edit source]

In this model it was assumed that the processes that connected neurons, were actually computations that made the dendritic/axon mass combined a series of simultaneous equations. While this seemed to suggest a computational nature to the neuron, it proved impossible to find any commonality between connections even within the same species, suggesting little or no equivalency in computation. This approach was largely abandoned in the Mid 1970's.
