Summary

Description
English: Photograph taken by Lewis W. Hine in 1912 of the housing conditions of the employees of Cannon Mills, a textile mill in Concord, North Carolina. The dirt path shows what the employees walked on each day and the smokestacks in the background suggest the dominance of the mill in their daily lives.
