[edit] Rules for importing Pages from Wikibooks
Only import pages for books that you plan to turn into lessons. It is totally against the concept of Wikiversity just to duplicate works done in other media. Robert Elliott 22:49, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] imports from wikipedia
There are a significant number of Philosophy articles that I'd like to import from wikipedia, mainly for the introductory sections, it would save a lot of duplicate work. Is there any direct from wikipedia import planned in the near future? RichMac 15:08, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Wikiversity custodians can do imports of Wikiversity-related pages from the meta-wiki and Wikibooks because that is where this project was developed. If you want to include text from a Wikipedia article here at Wikiversity, I suggest making a list of sources on the Wikiversity page and cite Wikipedia as your source for the text you use. --JWSchmidt 15:30, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Will take that route then, thanks for the advice. RichMac 01:35, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Import Template
For pages which have been imported from different Wikimedia sites please also use {{Imported}} - it's a template which I've done, yesterday and is designed for articles which was imported - if you want to mention that an article was imported from lets say Wikibooks the coding will be {{Imported|Wikibooks}}, I've had a number of problems with sorting out the Usage section - but thanks to Darklama the coding was properly fixed.
