[edit] What is mobile access to Wikiversity like?

Please report your experiences with as much detail as possible:

[edit] Wikimedia's mobile project

Mobile access to Wikipedia is much better than for Wikiversity. The reason for this is Wikipedia's use of Wikimedia's mobile project overview: http://wikitech.wikimedia.org/view/Mobile, which is currently only available for Wikipedia. The WMF developer is willing and helpful, but currently unable to dedicate sufficient time. So technical help in this area would be appreciated.

[edit] Server Cluster?

I think the first thing that needs to be determined is if we can dedicate a server cluster to the job, it looks like Wikipedia uses a "Thin cluster" Do we have anyone at the server farm that has a free thin cluster that might be available for this use? The wikitech site names a couple of techs, are they also our techs for our servers? or do we need the people that did the Wikitech project to recommend someone from among our own techs?--Graeme E. [edit] Support Software Stack

Once we have the cluster dedicated, the next step is to get our technicians to load the Support Software Stack, suggested by the project. This means that the cluster has to be offlined and turned into a sandbox cluster, until we get the bugs out of our particular implementation. Of interest here is whether there is a difference in the software stack that supports Wikipedia and the Software Stack that supports Wikiversity. It is entirely plausible that we are using different versions of the software, that are less likely to combine easily or that we have loaded different extensions and that there might be a problem with one or another extension.--Graeme E.
