- August 15, 2006 Wikiversity project launch.
- Cormaggio had shepherded the Wikiversity proposal through approval and he was given bureaucrat tools.

- August 18, 2006. Wikiversity:Administrators linked to Wikiversity:Requests for Adminship (and moved to Wikiversity:Candidates for Custodianship on August 19). See: day #1 version
