Which files am I supposed to check? The all (or at least the recent ones) have license tags already. In fact, I thought I had properly tagged the file that was deleted. Once it is undeleted I will tag it (again). --Una Smith 15:15, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Images on SAR mission 2008 01

Hi! I'm involved in a bit of a clean-up of non-free files used on Wikiversity, and I came across File:Summit3.jpg, File:DOG TRAINING TRAIL II.JPG and File:F41088a1-crop.jpg. The resource is extremely impressive, but since those files were uploaded with come to have tighter restrictions on fair-use images based on a resolution from the Wikimedia Foundation, in that non-free images need to meet the exemption doctrine policy. What that generally means in practice is that we need to add a fair use rationale to go with the fair use claim. This isn't a big deal, and I was going to write one (and will happily try and do so if I don't hear back from you), but I thought I'd stop by and confirm that those particular images are needed, and that a free equivalent won't do the job. My guess is a definite yes for both maps, so the only one I had doubt over was the tricycle, in that there are some free-use images of tricycles available. :) Thus my first query is whether or not you feel the photo has to be of that particular tricycle (in which case I'll just state that in the rationale), or if a free-use equivalent (of the same or different colour, and a different model) would be ok from your end. The second quick question is whether or not you know the source of the files, so I can add a reference.

Sorry to drop this sort of administration stuff on you. My plan is to get things back in line with policy, so that the images which are a real concern can be handled easier. :) - Bilby 07:21, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
