[edit] Attribution

Hi, I notice that a number of your contributions seem so have come from here (US Federal Aviation Administration). As a US government agency, this information is in the public domain, however, it is usually a good idea to add a note to the bottom of the page, attributing the information to the correct authors. (see this for an example of how it should look) Thank you. --Michael Billington (talkcontribs) 12:34, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

To include a template, you simply use {{some template}}. However, to include a page which isn't a template, you add a colon to the start. For instance, to include the contents page, use:
{{:AirplaneFlyingHandbook/Contents}}
I hope this answers your question. --Michael Billington (talkcontribs) 00:06, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, templates is what you need.
Wiki is designed for computer programmers (computer nerds) so using things like templates is awkward and not very clear. If you need to see an example, tell me what content you want in Table Of Content and I will create a very simple example for you. Robert Elliott 03:08, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:AfhChapter 1.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:AfhChapter 1.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikiversity because of copyright law (see Wikiversity' Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikibooks are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikiversity:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information or giving false information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at Colloquim. Thank you. BrianOregon 04:12, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Airplane flying handbook

Hi AuntPeggy! I noticed your project in the orphans list. Might I suggest you consider adding links to it from related portals so people can find it if you wish assistance. Otherwise if you place a link on your user page, perhaps under a heading of Projects to Which I Contribute or something suitable it will remove the project page from the orphans list ..... where people like me occasionally scan for abandoned stuff that needs placement in the link structure or possibly deletion. Nice work so far! I like the idea of getting some public domain U.S.G. data freely available on the internet under GFDL for others to reuse! Mirwin 05:37, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

I also found this page: http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/AirplaneFlyingHandbook/Contents I am not yet good with article naming schemes. You may already be more aware than I since you are obviously working with a complex structure. There is a technique of creating subpages by using a forward slash before the subpage name like this /Aunt Peggy discussion page example subpage. A forward slash inside the link following the title eliminates the visible slash in the clickable link. Subpages may be nested in deep trees. How deep I am uncerain. I have gone three deep. You may prefer to keep longer titles with forward slash separators in the title. Please proceed as you feel best, I intend these comments only to be helpful, not hurtful or discouraging. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Mirwin 05:49, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problems

The affected images are listed below. Please provide a license template and source on each image page. Thanks. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 23:13, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi, and thanks for clarifying the public domain license on the images. Were the other images that were deleted (listed in redlink above) also from the same FAA book, and public domain? Let me know if you would like me to undelete those images and we can add the source and license info to them. --mikeu talk 22:49, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
