  • Ubuntu Linux is an operating sytstem, like Windows or Mac OSX.
  • Free Software Foundation is an excellent resource for free software for any platform.
  • Ibiblio is a very interesting record of old versions of software and other media.
  • Programs like Microsoft Office;
  • Programs like Photoshop;
    • GIMP works and looks different than PhotoShop
    • Paint.Net works and looks more like PhotoShop
  • Programs like Garageband;
  • Lilypond is a music notation program.
  • Inkscape is like Adobe Illustrator.
  • Songbird is like iTunes.
