My name is Bob Cooper.

I have 15 staff working for me as Technical writers 10 in Prague and five in Moscow

I started work at 16 in 1975 as an apprentice Telephone Engineer and studied Telecommunications, Computing and Radio and Line at Acton Technical college Now part of Thames Valley University. I began Technical Training Writing in 1999 as a Telecommunications System Support Engineer at Cubic Transportation Systems (Part of the Cubic Corporation) when my Boss unexpectedly went sick for the first time.

I have been writing, editing and language correcting technical documents ever since except for a brief break to teach English. I moved to Prague and got a job as a Technical Writer where I met TWFred at Sitronics Telecom solutions A.S..

I was quickly promoted to Documentation Sector manager at Sitronics T.S. and given the poison challis of uniting the style and output of several competing departments. This was necessary because the style, content and look of documents from different departments was so diverse that the customers would not believe they came from the same company.

I took the best aspects from each department and developed a company wide look style and set of guidelines. We moved the content to a Content Management System and developed an output engine so that we could print in Word and PDF.

I referred to this as the Bob Cooper Memorial Format because I swore the process would be the death of me but we succeeded. There is only one style, format and look for the everywhere except the Russian Market and CIS (The Goct (Russian Government) standard applies here).

Due to the number of Languages used at Sitronics I became involved in the internationalisation and localising of documents hence the Easy English (EE) versions of the Documents. I speak English, French, German, Dutch, Czech and I am learning Russian
