Spanish is a fairly easy language to pronounce, since with only a few exceptions, all letters only have one phonetical sound. The exceptions to this are "w" and "x", which aren't used very frequently. The pronunciations of the letter stay consistent, but there are several marks that can change the pronunciation of the word as a whole. In each word, there is an implicit accent. If the word ends in a vowel, "n", or "s", the implicit accent is on the second to last syllable. If the word ends in a consonant other than "n" or "s", the implicit accent is on the last syllable of the word. Accent marks change the implicit accent. The diaeresis also changes the pronunciation of a word. Normally, when "g" is followed by "ue" or "ui", the "u" is silent. When there is a diaeresis, the "u" is pronounced. With only a few pronunciation rules to learn, Spanish is an easy language to read and speak aloud.
